CULTURAL TOURISM

"Half-day" Itinerary

Over thirty languages are spoken in DeKalb County and is now the most diverse county in Georgia. You must find Buford Highway and uncover the International Corridor! You will find a plethora of businesses--Korean, Chinese, American, Taiwanese, Spanish, Vietnamese and many, many more--operating side-by-side. You are bound to notice the signage and the many stores that cater to each nationality. Stop by and visit your favorite "country" and be sure to dine in one of their restaurants for a tantalizing experience. Some of the best ethnic restaurants in metropolitan Atlanta are found on this highway.

Be sure to also tour our "United Nations of Fresh Food," Your DeKalb Farmers Market. This market brings together people and food products from all over the world. There are aisles of specialty goods from around the globe. The market directly imports from growers and shippers worldwide and distributes to the retail and wholesale trade. Your DeKalb Farmers Market also features a scratch bakery and food production facility as well as a restaurant and coffee bar with fresh pastries and salads, hot vegetable dishes and international entrees available seven days a week. You'll find an international array of cheeses, spices, pastas, flowers and wines--and fruits and vegetables--some we bet you have never heard of, let alone know if they grow above or below the ground!

This is a great place to get "lost" for a couple of hours and a wonderful place for lunch or a great dessert and coffee.
